anorectal malformation, complication, constipation, fecal incontinenceAbstract
The concept of the surgical treatment of anorectal malformations is based on an in-depth knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and morpho-pathology of the colo-recto-anal and perineal area. The given study elucidates how the evolution of medico-biologic knowledge has influenced surgical tactics in the correction of anorectal malformations over the centuries. Despite the successes achieved at the current stage, there are still gaps in the medical-surgical treatment of anorectal malformations, which generate postoperative morbidity in the group of these patients, which indicates the need to further improve the curative management of these congenital anomalies.
