The Eminescian musical discourse in the exegesis of George Călinescu

The work presents the opinions of the illustrious historian and literary critic George Călinescu about the musicality of Mihai Eminescu’s work, as presented in the History of Romanian Literature from its Origins to the Present and in his other studies and articles. Their key idea is that Eminescu's lyrical discourse is identified with a musical discourse. The musical factor is not only manifested through certain poetic techniques, but in complex forms related to three modes: melodic, harmonic, ineffable, contributing to the deepening of the vision of the world and of the Being that enters into relation with it.
