Abstract

Some aspects related to the functions and possible approaches in building a territorial information system for the health sector are examined. The emphasis is placed on the main source of data and information - the electronic health record, which can serve both for the management of the sector and for all patient referrals to any medical institution (clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, etc.). Solutions are proposed for medical information systems, including for the Republic of Moldova, which would contribute to a safe, secure way of exchanging data and information between medical institutions used by stakeholders in the healthcare, including patients in the process of diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, care, etc.
