Raymund Netzhammer came to Romania as a professor at the Catholic Seminary in Bucharest where he taught between 1900 and 1902. He returned in 1905 as a hierarch, Catholic Archbishop of Bucharest. He held the position until 1927. Netzhammer left us an extensive Diary (1737 pages), in which he recorded the visits made to the country, information about personalities, localities, monasteries, etc. The present study is based on the notes about Buzău, the Catholic community of Buzău, the meetings and discussions he had with Alexandru Marghiloman.
