Abstract

This article highlights the heuristic role of metaphors in the realization of scientific through the process of (de)metaphorization. Metaphors are used both in the language of the humanities and in the language of the exact sciences. According to scientists, metaphors can indicate new directions, and new experiments in testing scientific hypotheses, as well as operations of categorization, hierarchization and classification. The heuristic role of metaphors in conducting scientific research is to highlight the dominant functions in scientific knowledge and communication because thinking and expression are organized around a conceptual system. The use of the metaphorical system facilitates the reception and understanding of scientific discourse.
