Abstract

Using the Maslach Burnout Inventory scale, it was found that burnout syndrome affected the entire study sample, including a moderate level of burnout in 60% of the respondents. Of the three dimensions of the syndrome, psycho-emotional burnout was the most prevalent, affecting 36% of doctors. The study found that the level of burnout depends on a number of variables. For example, Anaesthesiologists and Intensive Care doctors with less seniority and younger age were more affected than those with more seniority and older age. Also, Anaesthesiologists and Intensive Care doctors in district institutions were more affected than those in republican institutions, etc.
