Observing double stars: integrating astronomy into extracurricular activities for gifted students

A study was conducted on the importance of observing double stars within the extracurricular activities of gifted students and the benefits of this activity on the intellectual development of students and their passion for astronomy. The research highlights how studying double stars using observational astronomy techniques can build investigative competence and knowledge of fundamental astronomy concepts. The study involved 55 students from the Republic of Moldova who participated in online extracurricular activities conducted at the Astronomical Observatory in Galați, using specific tools for distance education.
