Rezumat

În anul 2020, pandemia globală de COVID-19, cauzată de coronavirusul SARS-CoV-2, a constituit o provocare majoră pentru sistemele de sănătate la nivel mondial. O caracteristică importantă a acestui virus este tendința sa de a afecta endoteliul vaselor de sânge, determinând apariția endoteliitei și o serie de anomalii ale sistemului de coagulare a sângelui, inclusiv coagulopatii cu formare crescută de trombină, creșterea D-dimerului, scăderea fibrinolizei și prelungirea timpului de protrombină. Aceste dereglări ale sistemului de coagulare a sângelui reprezintă un aspect-cheie al patogenezei hipercoagulabilității în COVID-19. Hipercoagulabilitatea în acest context este însoțită de niveluri ridicate ale factorului von Willebrand, ale factorului VIII, formarea de capcane extracelulare neutrofile și activarea trombocitelor.
