Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of genre as a phenomenon of musical art in the Republic of Moldova at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. One of the manifestations of the ”mixed” genre, including in contemporary Moldovan composition, is the practice of inventing new genre names or, in other words, ”composing” the genre (a term belonging to M. Lobanova), a practice used primarily to embody current artistic themes and concepts, as well as ideas for working with the musical space of the work, as chosen by the composer. Die Metamorfosen by B. Dubosarschi is a suggestive example "composing" the genre in Moldovan instrumental chamber music, in which the dramaturgy reflects the original ”sound idea” chosen by the composer (a term by V. Axionov), namely: the transformation of the thematism – from the thematic ”molecules” of the first section to the actual symbol-theme at the end of the work. The dramaturgy of the works, in its turn, contributes to revealing the artistic concept, the ”idiolect” of the composition, as well as the composer’s ”aesthetic message”.
